All About Me - Emily Sanchez

Heeey, I'm Emily!

I'm peruvian but raised in Miami, Floridaaaaa. (Yes the change of weather is quite impactful). I tend to come off as shy at first, but I can be a typical loud ass Hispanic when necessary!

My major is in Filmmaking, minor in directing, although I share many other interests in the arts. I play the piano, ukulele, flute, and can sing (as backup vocals that is). I also have my own personal blog, paint and draw, and have danced my heart out for as long as I can remember. Now just mainly at nightclubs.

Speaking of dance, I am very excited to learn the ins and outs of Flamenco! My older sister use to dance Flamenco and I have always cherished the feeling of watching the effort and passion brought to this dance form.

My role to this group is the photographer/videographer, and pretty much anything else that is in need to be taken care of.

Inspired by La La Land, my dream is to bring back musicals from a critically artistic point of view. Flamenco has a strong passionate theme that I believe will help with my research of ways to involve dance in films as a serious form of art. The focal points will be the Flamenco dancer's character/expression, and using great cinematography and sense of direction to emphasize the strength, speed, confidence, and story it's trying to portray.
